WEEE and RoHS Update - May 2006

Silver Telecom state that we only use qualified component manufacturers in our products, whose
specifications meet or exceed the requirements of the European Directive for the Restriction of
use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) due for implementation during July 2006, and we
hereby certify that all of our products do not contain any of the following banned substances, in
quantities which would exceed those specified limits:

• Lead - Limit: 0.10% of component weight = < 1000ppm
• Mercury - Limit: 0.10% of component weight = < 1000ppm
• Cadmium - Limit: 0.01% of component weight = < 100ppm
• Hexavalent Chromium - Limit: 0.10% of component weight = < 1000ppm
• Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs) - Limit: 0.10% of component weight = < 1000ppm
• Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs) - Limit: 0.10% of component weight = < 1000ppm

We are pleased to state that our current product range meet the requirements of the directive,
and can be classed as Lead Free. To allow easy identification of our Lead Free products, we will
mark each compliant batch with an internationally recognised JEDEC standard label, in a
prominent position on the products packaging.

It is the intention of Silver Telecom to deal only with suppliers that can demonstrate that they
can manufacture our products, components or materials in an environmentally responsible
manner, that meet the requirements of the RoHS directive.

We will only supply RoHS compliant products in the future, meaning that our customers can
safely ensure that their products meet the current Directives deadline of July 2006. All new
products developed by Silver Telecom since April 2005, have been Lead Free and RoHS
compliant in line with the European Directives.

All new designs and solutions provided by Silver Telecom will give due consideration of the need
to reduce hazardous substances, and we will monitor current and future legislation to ensure
continuing compliance.
